How to verify your SafeW installer: 3 checks for filename, size and signature
The same installer name can come from different versions or sources. Take one minute before installing to check the filename, file size and digital signature to avoid tampered builds.
Don't double-click that installer just yet. A same-named installer may come from a different version, or may even have been modified by a third party. Spend one minute on these three checks to avoid tampered or bundled packages.
Step 1: Check the filename
Make sure the filename matches what the official download page says. Be wary of odd suffixes or version numbers that don't line up. Especially avoid files renamed as "cracked" or "portable" — don't touch packages from unknown sources.
Step 2: Check the file size
The official download page usually lists the installer size. Right-click the file and open "Properties" to compare. A big mismatch means the file is incomplete or was replaced — download it again.
Step 3: Check the digital signature
Right-click the installer, go to "Properties > Digital Signatures", and check that the status is "OK" and the publisher is the official SafeW. A missing or invalid signature means the package may have been modified — do not install it.
Step 4: Keep download records
Screenshot the download page, file size and download time for your records. If you ever need to troubleshoot or roll back to an earlier version, these records save a lot of time.
