Mac users often get stuck on "cannot verify developer" when installing SafeW. This guide covers downloading, installing and allowing the app in system settings.
Mac users installing SafeW often get stuck on the "cannot verify developer" prompt. This guide covers the full install flow and how to allow the app.
Step 1: Download the dmg
Go to the official download page, choose macOS and download the .dmg file. You can quickly check the file size after downloading.
Step 2: Drag into Applications
Double-click the dmg, and a window appears. Drag the SafeW icon into the "Applications" folder — that completes the main installation.
Step 3: Allow "cannot verify developer"
The first time you open it, macOS may warn "cannot verify developer". Don't panic — it's not a broken app, just Apple's security mechanism. Do this: open "System Settings > Privacy & Security", scroll to the "Security" section, find the prompt and click "Open Anyway", then confirm once more.
Step 4: Grant microphone and notifications
After the first login, the system asks for microphone, notifications and other permissions. Voice calls need the microphone; receiving messages needs notifications. Allow both.
Common issues
If the "Open Anyway" button doesn't appear, right-click the SafeW icon and choose "Open", then follow the path above. Both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs are supported.
